The Pod Project
The Pod Project is a collaborative weaving and wellbeing project created with Warlpiri, Arrernte and Luritja young people at Yipirinya School in Alice Springs. Students have learnt a simple basketry technique and contributed to the making of large, cocoon-like pods designed as a sensory refuge that supports wellbeing, regulation and connection, while standing as a visible celebration of collective achievement within the school community. It’s a sharing of skills that are both practical and deeply human.
The project was made possible with the support of the Newmont Tanami Operations’ Local Community Investment Program.
